Wilier Triestina is celebrating 120 years, and instead of doing the usual anniversary thing. The Italian brand is going full Italian superbike. Meet the Wilier Filante Ultimate, billed as the most exclusive edition Wilier has ever produced.

The new Filante Ultimate arrives as part of Wilier’s 120 Years Forward celebration, marking the brand’s founding in Bassano del Grappa back in 1906. That’s a long time in bike years, like, wooden rims-to-electronic-shifting long. And Wilier is using the milestone less as a museum moment and more as a “look what we can still build” flex.

The Filante Ultimate frameset is crafted from a next-generation Toray M40X carbon frame using six different carbon fibers in the layup. Wilier says the goal is to reduce weight while keeping the bike sharp under power. Riders want responsiveness when accelerating, precision when the pace changes, and stability when things get fast. In short, it’s a Filante turned all the way up.

The Fancy Bits

Anniversary bikes can go one of two ways. Sometimes they’re mostly paint and some cool one-off badges, and sometimes they go all in with super top-of-the-line bits we never see. The Filante Ultimate looks like the second kind.

Wilier fitted this edition with a long list of dedicated and color-matched parts, including a CeramicSpeed oversized pulley cage, CeramicSpeed bottom bracket bearings, a Miche X2 RD chainring, and Deva RD Daylight Silver wheels.

The finishing kit gets the same treatment, with a color-matched painted seatpost, dedicated handlebar tape, painted junction pieces between the handlebar and frame, with blue anodized details on the dropout, axles, and disc lockrings. There’s also a dedicated aerokit and Vittoria tires, chosen to complete the build and sharpen the bike’s character.

That’s the nice thing about this kind of anniversary project: it gives the company something to go out of the park with. There are “no cost limits” to crush the creative juices; they sent it out with an awesome paint job and top-of-the-line specs – and no pricing.

Wilier didn’t provide a claimed weight, price, or production number in the release, which are the first things everyone will ask. But it looks like it’s gonna be 120 limited by the mark on the top tube…

The Filante platform already leans into aero road performance. The Ultimate treatment adds more polish, more exotic componentry, and more ceremony.

Wilier Is Having a Moment

The Filante Ultimate also arrives at a pretty strong time for Wilier.

The brand stated, “We’ve closed 2025 with €70 million in consolidated turnover and began 2026 with 7% volume growth over the previous year.” CEO Andrea Gastaldello credits recent success to models such as the Filante SLR ID2, Rave SLR ID2, and Rapida, highlighting Wilier’s blend of performance, design, technology, and identity.

That matters because racing heritage only goes so far; we’ve watched many heritage brands fall by the wayside. Plenty of old bike brands have a history. Fewer manage to keep the doors open and the product interesting.

A Proper Italian Celebration

Wilier held the 120th anniversary celebration at Villa Contarini in Piazzola sul Brenta, bringing together dealers, ambassadors, partners, guests, and riders connected to the brand’s history.

At the center of the event was an immersive exhibition built around Wilier’s DNA, identity, and design culture. The company framed the whole thing around its “Culture of Speed” philosophy, speed not just as going fast, but as the meeting point of research, innovation, design, and cycling culture.

The Filante Ultimate is the reminder that the brand still knows how to make a bike that gets people leaning closer.
