Updated Allied ABLE Gravel Bike Takes Big Tires & Speed Seriously
Allied Cycle Works pulled the wraps off the next-generation ABLE gravel bike, their modern gravel speed machine. Narrow where it needs to be, aero shaping, and fits up to 57mm (2.3″) tires. It hits all the in-vogue gravel hotness. Allied says this isn’t just a refresh—it’s a ground-up redesign.

Aimed at tackling today’s fastest, roughest courses with more speed, capability, and versatility than ever before. Available as a frameset or in three top-tier (SRAM) builds, the new ABLE is built for riders who are serious about their gravel fun.

Gravel racing isn’t what it was a few years ago—it’s faster, more tactical, and much wider. Allied leaned into that reality and gave the ABLE the tools to handle it. The redesigned frame sheds weight while still delivering the stiffness and compliance needed to hammer over everything from smooth dirt roads to brutal rock gardens. With clearance for up to 57mm tires, it’s got the footprint to handle anything a race throws at it.

One of the biggest upgrades? Geometry tweaks that improve high-speed stability while keeping that razor-sharp agility for tight, technical terrain.

Add in fully internal cable routing and Allied’s ST03 adjustable stem (I know, sounds crazy, it’s super cool), letting riders switch between two rise options without re-cabling—and you’ve got a sleek, clean cockpit built for business.

Gravel racing is as much about efficiency as power, and Allied didn’t overlook the small stuff. The ABLE debuts a new magnetic-latching internal storage compartment that saves weight over traditional under-the-bottle designs while keeping bottle mounts secure. It’s clean, practical, and keeps your essentials out of the elements without compromising bottle placement.

- SRAM RED XPLR AXS: This is a no-compromise race machine. Wireless electronic shifting, Industry Nine SOLIX SL AR40c carbon wheels, and a sub-16.3lb build make this the lightest and fastest setup.
- SRAM FORCE AXS MULLET: A 1x drivetrain paired with a wide-range mountain cassette and Industry Nine 1/1 Ultralite Carbon Gravel wheels.
- SRAM RIVAL AXS MULLET: Bringing wireless shifting to a more accessible price point, the Rival AXS build delivers top-tier performance without breaking the bank.
- ABLE FRAMESET: This includes Allied’s carbon frame, the ST03 stem/headset, and the SP02 seat post with independent fore/aft saddle adjustments—perfect for riders who want to spec their dream build.

You might remember from our Updated: BC-40 piece with Kate Courtney from a while back, Allied recently moved its carbon production offsite. This means that each ABLE frame is finished in Bentonville, Arkansas, but not hand-made there like the previous model. However, ALLIED still designs, prototypes, paints, and hand-assembles all its bikes at the factory in Bentonville.

Allied ABLE Availability
The new ABLE will be available for order starting April 8, 2025, through ALLIED’s website and select retailers. The MSRP of the new ABLE frameset with stem and seat post starts at $4,000. For more information, visit alliedcycleworks.com.
