    Overnight stays in Spanish hotels climbed by 20.9% throughout the first four months of the year, exceeding those recorded during the same period in 2019, before the covid era.

    According to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), between January and April of this year recorded, 81.1 million nights, above the 80.4 million nights recorded during the same time in 2019. It was also confirmed in April that there were more than 28 million overnight stays in Spanish hotel facilities, a growth of 11.5% from April 2022, when there were 25.1 million.

    Despite the rise in overnight stays, in April of last year, the average hotel stay in Spain fell by 1.6% compared to the same month the year before, when it was 2.9% overnight stays per tourist.

    Regarding the guests' nationality, over 10.7 million were domestic visitors, representing 38.4% of all visitors. On the other hand, nearly 17.3 million visitors who stayed the night were foreign tourists. Notably, travelers from the United Kingdom and Germany accounted for 22.1% and 18.3% of overnight stays in Spanish hotels, respectively. Travelers from France (10%), the Netherlands (4.7%), and the United States (4.6%) followed.

    Spanish Hotels ADR and RevPAR

    The average daily rate of hotels for each occupied room (ADR) was €104.9 in April, an increase of 8.8% from the same month in 2022. On the other hand, the average daily revenue per available room (RevPAR), dependent on the occupancy levels reported by hotels, increased by 17.9% to €70.1.
