New DT Swiss 350 DEG mountain bike hubs cut a quarter off the cost of durable, fast hub engagement. By adding the oversized 72-tooth DEG ratchet to their best-selling 350 series mountain bike hub family, DT wants to give more mountain bikers access to their fastest-ever 5° hub engagement, while still getting all the proven durability of ratchet hub internals.

Plus, to celebrate spring with new affordable hubs, DT has painted up some very rare limited edition hubsets in pastel colors to fuel some unique custom wheel builds.

Mountain bikers asked for faster-engaging hubs. And DT came up with a larger Star Ratchet solution that allowed for more full-size teeth to deliver fast engagement AND the bulletproof durability that led so many hubmakers to copy the DT ratchet internals after its patent protection expired a few years ago.

Bigger ratchets mean more room for big, durable ratchet teeth. You get faster engagement and proven durability.

And the new 350 hubs just dial it back to 72-teeth on their DEG ratchet rings. You still get fast 5° engagement, with even higher strength than before. Add in larger diameter bearings, and these new 350 DEG hubs are some of the fastest and the toughest mountain bike hubs that DT Swiss makes. And they cost 25% less than 240 DEG.

DT Swiss 350 DEG – Pricing, options & availability

The new 5°-engagement DT Swiss 350 DEG rear hubs now sell for just $380 / 280€, that’s one hundred-twenty dollars or ninety-seven euros less than the same 240 DEG hubs. That 25% savings should make these a much more affordable and accessible option for any mountain biker looking for a custom wheel build. Even if they are quite a bit more than the standard ratchet 350 rear hub.

The new 350 Classic DEG hubs come standard in black (like all normal DT hubs) with simple white graphics. There isn’t a new front hub, since you just pair it with the standard 350 front that got a refined 240-style machining a few years ago (but importantly, did not get EXP internals).

There’s also some limited edition hubs in painted pastel colors to celebrate the new 350 DEG launch. Just 350 pairs of hubs each, in light pink, sky blue, and grass green have been made. Pricing is the same as the standard black hubs ($122 / 90€ for the matching front). But you’ll have to act super fast to try to hunt one of these eggs down from a local shop or online retailer before they are gone forever!
