Cambodia is opening its borders to vaccinated travelers who no longer need to undergo any pre-departure and arrival tests and are no longer subject to quarantine. In addition, obtaining tourist visas at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports is possible again.

On March 17, 2022, Cambodia was the first destination in Southeast Asia that lifted the travel restrictions to enter the country.

Today, vaccinated travelers no longer need to perform a PCR test of maximum 72 hours before boarding the plane. They also no longer need to perform rapid tests upon arrival.

Not only that, but tourist visas can now be obtained at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports.

Vaccinated travelers will have to present a printed copy of an EU Covid vaccination certificate (two doses or three doses), as well as a visa or an e-visa, not to mention an insurance certificate printed in English, at the dates of your stay, covering medical expenses including Covid-19 for a fee of 50 000 USD.

Quarantine is no longer in effect for vaccinated travelers. Non-vaccinated travelers are still subject to a 14-day quarantine in an approved hotel in Phnom Penh.

EU citizens need a visa or e-visa to enter Cambodia, regardless of the purpose and length of stay. The e-visa can be used for 3 months from the date of issue and allows 30 days entry into Cambodia. The e-visa allows travelers to avoid sending their passports to the Consulate and any waiting on arrival.

It can be used to enter at the following points:

Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap International Airport, Sihanoukville International Airport, Cham Yeam (Koh Kong), Poi Pet (Banteay Meanchey), Bavet (Svay Rieng), Tropaeng Kreal Border Post (Stung Treng).

It takes about 5 working days to obtain a visa. For safety reasons, it is recommended to start the application process 2 weeks before departure. The consular fee for the e-visa is 33 euros.
