Trek Bicycles recently announced the launch of the all-new Domane+ ALR. This new lightweight aluminum offering rounds out Trek’s eRoad bike platform. Plus, the new Domane+ ALR brings a lower price point than its carbon sibling.

The new Domane+ ALR combines TQ’s new HPR60 mid-drive motor with the Domane’s reputation for versatility and comfort. Not to mention, each model is made with Trek’s lower-impact aluminum frame.

The new TQ HPR60 motor is said to be lighter, quieter, and smaller than the previous iteration. All of this, while still offering a natural feeling with assist up to 28mph. It has a claimed range of 60 miles and offers 60Nm of torque.

Low Impact Aluminum

The new Domane+ uses what Trek is calling a “low-impact aluminum frame”. The frame is lightweight, durable, and economical, bringing the Domane+ ALR to more users. Trek says that “Starting in October, every aluminum bike from Trek, Electra, and Diamant will be made with aluminum that’s either recycled, sourced from facilities powered by renewable energy, or both“.

With tire clearance up to 40mm, the Domane+ ALR will be right at home on pristine paved roads, b-roads, or light gravel. This makes it a true all-road eBike. It maintains the same “endurance geometry” as the analog Domane. So, it provides the same all-day comfort for big days in the saddle.

There are all kinds of mounts for fenders, racks, and accessory cages. This makes it ready for whatever you might want to attach to it. Seems like a really good choice for those commuters out there.

The discreet controls on the Domane+ ALR offer riders the ability to choose from three different assist modes. All without taking their hands off the hoods.
