Travel enthusiasts are in luck. Time at airport checkpoints will be drastically reduced in just a few months.

Until now, when flying, travelers had to throw away their liquids or take out their laptop computers at the security checkpoint. A constant that, it seems, is now a thing of the past.

The reason? The implementation of three-dimensional X-ray scanners will make it possible to inspect baggage without having to open it.

The measure promoted by Aena (Major Spanish Airport Operator) should be implemented next year. The pilot airports are expected to be Madrid-Barajas and El Prat Airport in Barcelona. Palma de Mallorca, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, Tenerife Sur, Gran Canarias and Málaga-Costa Del Sol. These airports serve most Spanish air passengers at their airports after Madrid and Barcelona. Now they will test the new technology at the airport security check. The technology is expected to benefit the tourism sector.

Taking into account that currently "liquids, creams and aerosols must be in individual containers with a capacity of no more than 100 milliliters, which must be placed on trays at the security checkpoint and always outside the luggage", thanks to this change and with the new regulations, travelers will be able to carry both toiletry bottles and medium or family-sized colognes, creams or make-up freely and inside their suitcases without the need to take them out.

It needs to be emphasized that similar technology has been in use for some time at different airports in the world, for example in Seoul, Tokyo, Amsterdam and Rome.
